The Tearoom Borenco is an expansion of an existing restaurant. The newly added room enlarged the restaurant, allowing the floor plan to be split into two sections. On one side it functions as additional seats for the pizzeria, on the other side it’s an in-house bakery, that sells tea, coffee and home made bread, pastry and ice cream. The two parts function independently but in case of need they can help each other out.

In the center of the room stands a brass metallic construction, which structures the room. It functions as a room divider or a room connector, depending on the time of the day and the illumination. A bench seat is located along the window offering a number of different sized tables and opposing chairs and stools. The chairs and stools display unique styling yet represent the same furniture family for cohesion.

The many lights hanging from the ceiling are an eye catcher and provide the room with a unique elegance. The type of lamps and the seats reveal the section you are in. The stools in the tearoom provide a cosy and playful feel, whilst the chairs in the restaurant present an air of class. The combination of warm natural materials such as wood, brass and yellowish-brown textiles fill the room with a golden brilliance.
