Fourteen years after its last renovation, the Dior retail space on Milan‘s prestigious Via Montenapoleone shopping artery has seen another major revamp and upgrade, becoming House of Dior. Timely inaugurated for Milan Fashion Week‘s latest edition, the flagship store is housed on two expansive floors of a historic building on Via Montenapeoleone. The interior design, entirely created by lauded New York City-based architect Peter Marino, blends the design codes inspired by Dior‘s ultimate flagship store on avenue Montaigne in Paris with distinct Milanese flair. The ground floor is home to the women’s collection, featuring apparel, shoes, bags, and jewellery. The men’s collection, ranging from made-to-measure tailoring to formal wear, is available alongside fragrances and homeware from La Collection Privée. Additionally, there’s a selection of exclusive items available.

One floor up, a more tranquil atmosphere awaits, replete with private lounges and beauty rooms. The shopping experience is further elevated by a curated selection of art works and design trophies, such as artist Michelangelo Pistoletto‘s portrait of founder Christian Dior, Claude Lalanne‘s Ginkgo bench and Vittorio Introini‘s shelves, and other works of art and designer pieces. Landscape artist Peter Wirtz designed the terrace, courtyard and green walls of the retail space. The newest House of Dior in the Lombard capital follows openings as far flung as Paris, New York, Beijing, Los Angeles, and Seoul, and obviously, this outpost is also fully aligned with luxury lifestyle, thanks to Monsieur Dior restaurant on the premises. Helmed by Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini, the setting is adorned with paintings. The menu here reinterprets many of the Dior‘s iconic pieces, creating a dialogue between gastronomy and fashion. © superfuture
