Located in Hangzhou, the restaurant’s name is taken from the shape of the Cong, an ancient Chinese jade vessel which symbolized the relationship between heaven and earth. The sumptuous elegance of dark timber panels, partitions inlaid with jade, and classical art objects within a setting of soft, atmospheric light recalls the feeling of traditional dining rituals for guests here.
The restaurant’s courtyard features an expansive reflecting pool which supports miniature ‘islands’ of flame, and acts as a visual extension of the interior through full-height glass panels, on which the roof above seems to float.
