For postal and logistics company Posti’s return to the iconic main postal building Postitalo, the space was to be transformed into an innovative full-service store where the history of the building is still present. At the heart of the service concept, designed by the consulting company Motley, are simplicity, delightfulness and personalised functionality. Everything is in line with the principle of “Everything flows” a spatial concept which supports the fluidity of the store visits, whether the customer is picking up their parcel independently or seeking a more personalised service. The bench seat on the window wall reflects the flow of the design.

The colour scheme creates harmony in the space. The classic brand colours of Posti, orange and white, are accompanied by cardboard brown to add warmth, while the mirror like surfaces maximise the feel of space. Following the principles of sustainable development the premises were designed to preserve as much as possible of what already existed and to make use of Posti’s service equipment – for example, old parcel vending machines were put to new uses. Insightful functionality from the previous project with Posti, Box by Posti, was to be implemented in the new Posti Helsinki 10 with the use of recycling and packaging points.
